Free OpenAccess Modules

Summary

This project builds a universal, independent and free module that handles OpenAccess files (API controlled by Si2). It mainly aims at reading schematics from popular circuit simulators like Keysight's ADS® or Cadence Virtuoso®. But the import and export of other files (layouts, symbols etc.) are planned, too.

Roadmap
Phase 1: (end of 2024)

  • Helper program that prints out the data of OpenAccess files in order to examine their content.
  • Import of OpenAccess schematics, data translation and print out of the contained elements.
  • Save imported schematics in Qucs format. A small library with a few of the most common components from ADS® is included, too.
Phase 2: (mid of 2025)
  • Import of OpenAccess symbols, data translation and print out of the contained elements.
  • Save imported symbols in SVG format.
  • Import of OpenAccess layouts, data translation and print out of the contained elements.
  • Save imported layouts in GDS format.
  • Co-operation with KLayout
Phase 3: (end of 2025)
  • Create component library in order to simulate the imported schematics.
Phase 4: (mid of 2026)
  • Export of OpenAccess schematics.
Phase 5: (end of 2026)
  • Export of OpenAccess layouts.
